Introduction

Hello fellow gamers!

You would expect November to be quiet and as we approach the holidays we have to wonder if we’ll see any major releases before December. The answer is, yes! We will! With a sequel to Planet Coaster, the launch Path of Exile 2’s early access, and the sequel to a beloved franchise coming, let’s dive in to see what’s up-and-coming this November.

Release Schedule

Mirthwood

Mirthwood Banner

First up, we have Mirthwood.

Mirthwood seems like a charming top down exploration sandbox game. With a clear emphasis on the journey, instead of the destination, and a great artistic style, I think I might pick this up for a playthrough.

If this all sounds of interest to you, why not try their demo?

Planet Coaster 2

Planet Coaster 2 Banner

The first Planet Coaster did an incredible job of taking us back to the days of Rollercoaster Tycoon while giving us some of the updated features we enjoyed in Bullfrog’s Theme Park and Theme Park World.

Frontier Developments is bringing us a sequel in Planet Coaster 2 and given the amount of great titles they’ve produced I have no doubt this will be a massive success.

Unrailed 2: Back on Track (Early Access)

Unrailed 2: Back on Track Banner

Unrailed is a multiplayer, all-on-one-screen, frantic coop game. In short, you and your buddies work together to build tracks for a train that stops for nothing, as well as clearing out obstacles and cooling the engine. You get to upgrade your train to try and make your life easier but at the same time to keep up with the demands of the increasingly difficult levels.

The original Unrailed provided me and a group of friends with many hours of frantic fun and we still pick it up now and then.

Though this is only early access launch, given their strong base I have high hopes for this.

Metro Awakening

Metro Awakening Banner

The Metro series has had great success, and Vertigo Games brings us a VR variant of it in Metro Awakening.

Though I have no doubt that they can make a success of it as they have with their previous VR titles like Arizona Sunshine and the VR edition of 7th Guest, I can’t help but feel that this iteration might be overshadowed with the launch of STALKER 2, later in November.

Goat Simulator: Remastered

Goat Simulator: Remastered Banner

I have never played any of the Goat Simulator games but given how many spin-offs and the countless hours people have played it, the Remaster of the OG might be my opportunity to pick it up and try it.

Coffee Stain studios always delivers good stuff, not to mention that it has one of the funniest trailers I’ve seen in recent months.

The Rise of the Golden Idol

The Rise of the Golden Idol Banner

I’ll definitely be grabbing The Rise of the Golden Idol. I played through the original detective series, The Case of the Golden Idol, in just about one sitting.

The game involves you clicking through clues, accumulating key words that you then use to puzzle together the series of events that resulted in the scene in front of you. It can get quite complex and as the cases tend to follow on each other it often involved jumping back to previous scenes to help piece the entire story together.

It’s got a great, hand-drawn, art-style and I highly recommend checking out the demo, if this sounds of interest to you.

Farming Simulator 25

Farming Simulator 25 Banner

I have played my fair share of the Farming Simulator franchise to know that the studio behind it, Giants Software, put a lot of effort into these games.

I’m sure Farming Simulator 25 will bring the same feeling and the best part is that you can enjoy it with your friends.

Path of Exile 2 Early Access

Path of Exile 2 Banner

I know quite a few people that are waiting for Path of Exile 2 and though this is only early access, I’m sure it’ll soak up a lot of people’s time.

The original Path of Exile saw massive success as an ever-evolving ARPG with it’s own original story, classes, and progression system. Based on everything we’ve seen of Path of Exile 2 I have high hopes that it’ll be an incredible experience.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Banner

The original Flight Simulator, FS1, came out in 1979, and it’s a good thing they started the series by numbering it because here we are, 45 years later, with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

I know there are many an enthusiast out there that’s chomping at the bit to get to this and I respect the series for still going. It’s almost become a cornerstone of gaming with each new Flight Simulator improving on the previous one and showcasing the latest in graphics and realistic simulation.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Banner

Another sequel to a beloved franchise. Though I’ve never found myself overly involved with the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise, I know many people that rave about it and it’s great to see that the developers have the opportunity to expand on their legacy.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will likely be the biggest launch this November for many gamers out there.

Conclusion

We usually see a fairly light month in November with many studios opting to hold off until December when the holidays kick off but this November isn’t being shy with some great releases coming our way. This is also in no way an extensive list, just the ones I found noteworthy.

We’re also going to see some DLC for Galactic Civilizations 3 and Hearts of Iron IV which I’ll look forward to but there is only so much time in a month and only so much money in our wallets.

The smart money might wait to see which of these games go down in price in the inevitable Steam holiday sale, though you don’t often see games on sale a month later.
